Namphe

NAMPHE

Zone

Sweetflake

Length

2'4"

Appearance

Namphe is a small, white denizen resembling an insect nymph. It has a segmented body with two stiff, prong-like tails in the back. Its face is round with two large, solid-colored green eyes on top of its head and two small antennae beneath its eyes. It has eight legs; two longer, more articulated legs it uses to manipulate its surroundings, and six smaller, more uniform legs used to swim.

Lifecycle

Namphe spawns within the shallowest parts of Sweetflake's ocean. Namphe will metamorphosize into Glydice under the correct conditions. Its metamorphosis can be recognized by the sprouting of its wings, as well as its head becoming segmented from its body and the fusion of its prong tails into a single club tail.

Habitat

Namphe are most frequently found close to the surface of Sweetflake's ocean, though they may occasionally dive slightly deeper. They are only able to maneuver on land well enough to return to the ocean should they be washed ashore.

Behavior

Namphe tend to gather in small groups, skimming near the surface of the ocean. They use their forelegs to grab curiously at anything that falls in.
