Rodpole is a very small crystalline denizen with a diamond-shaped body and a thin, pointed tail. It has a mouth at the front end of its body and its eyes are small hortizonal lines on both sides of its head.

Rodpole spawn exclusively in water. Rodpole will metamorphosize into Croakarry under the correct conditions. Its metamorphosis can be recognized by the Rodpole growing larger, becoming more square-shaped, growing legs, and absorbing its tail.

Rodpole are found in the many shallow ponds found throughout Quartzworld. They are capable of being on solid ground but their landbound movement consists only of flopping about pathetically, so they tend to avoid it.

Rodpole are fairly sedentary and spend most of their time resting their bodies on flat submerged crystals, storing energy for metamorphosis. At times they have been observed to play by chasing each other around the pond. They are very curious and will surface to investigate any disturbances to the water or surrounding area.
