Scornce is a shadowy black denizen with a two-dimensional appearance. It has a head with a pointy snout and a cap-like shelf on top with two long, thin horns sticking out in a V-shape. Its lower body is long and wedge-shaped and points downwards from the head. From its lower body branch thin outcroppings with three long tines on each. Above and around the tines are the flickering colored shadows of orange flames.

Scornce spawns near light sources such as chandeliers, and sconces. Scornce is not known to metamorphosize.

Scornce are most frequently found hanging from the ceiling or the wall. They have no true means of attaching themselves to these surfaces, so it is believed they are simply floating in a way that gives the appearance of attachment. Rarely, they have been found to position themselves completely flat against the wall and seemingly replace the shadow of an actual chandelier.

The luminous orange parts of Scornce's body have a quality similar to refracted light. As they move through the zone's halls, they cast an eerie glow on their surroundings.
