Ampersandrake is an inky black denizen with a two-dimensional appearance. Its narrow body is twisted with a loop in the middle between the front and hind leg. Its head is flat and featureless. The end of its tail is similarly shaped to its head, but slightly smaller. It has a quadrupedal body plan.

As a post-metamorphosis denizen, Ampersandrake does not spawn. Instead, it will metamorphosize from Ampersandra when under the correct conditions. Ampersandrake is the final stage of its metamorphic line.

Ampersandrake show a preference for denser, interconnected rooms. Rooms separated by screen partitions, with one or more attached rooms, and with more furniture and wall furnishings, all seem to be favored.

Ampersandrake are known for their elegant movement when in flight. Their thin forms undulate in the air with gentle rippling motions similar to a windsock or flag on the breeze. Despite this association, Ampersandrake walk far more frequently than fly, so Charmers are sometimes disappointed the first time they see them.
