Chainreap is a massive factory full of multi-layer interlaced walkways and conveyor belts. The walkways and conveyor belts appear to extend infinitely in all directions, with no floor or ceiling having ever been found. Walls have been found but can always eventually be circumnavigated, revealing more of the familiar crisscrossing pathways. The catwalks are connected to each other in places by stairs, escalators, ladders, and of course, other catwalks. All throughout the zone are machines and mechanisms of unknown function. Despite giving off the appearance of an automated assembly line, nothing is visibly being produced. Mechanical graspers reach out and sort thin air, loading the conveyor belts with seemingly nothing at all. There are assortments of control panels and levels alongside some of the mechanisms, but fiddling with them has no discernable effect.
In some places the walkways widen enough to accommodate large fabric tents. These tents are hung from higher walkways via thick chains and the insides are furnished with plush pillows and blankets. They are reminiscent of pillow forts, with the tents themselves typically being a single sheet of white cloth elevated from a higher point that allows it to drape itself over the entire walkway. The floor is similarly plush and squishes when walked upon, like a giant mattress. The pillows and blankets also come in a monochrome spectrum of whites, greys, and blacks but may feature patterns such as stripes or polkadots. Charmers often make use of these soft, sheltered areas to rest while traversing the zone.
