Charmers and Charming

There is one way for denizens to leave their home zones without being trapped in charm form forever. Denizens can form a psychic bond with humans, allowing them to communicate telepathically with them. Some denizens may communicate in words, while others may transmit images and feelings. Humans who bond with denizens are called Charmers. When a denizen is bonded with a Charmer, the Charmer can release it from its charm form, allowing it to exist outside of its home zone. The reasons why humans become Charmers and why denizens travel with them are as many and varied as the individuals themselves. The Charmers Association is the main group responsible for training new Charmers and introducing them to the zones. Though anyone can become a Charmer, the profession's popularity has fallen in recent years.
